Beloved blessed families from around the world, Ambassadors For Peace, and leaders from all walks of life:

The fifteen messages of peace contained in this volume represent the essential teachings of the Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon. These are precious words. Please read them with a prayerful heart and an open, attentive mind, for these teachings serve as a guidebook for our eternal lives, and they form the basis for bringing about a world of everlasting peace.

Father and Mother Moon, whom we attend as the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind, are unique in all of history. From the viewpoint of God’s providence of restoration, God is the incorporeal, vertical True Parent, and Father and Mother Moon are the corporeal, horizontal True Parents—the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind. Father and Mother Moon, the True Parents, are the very people who are fulfilling God’s providence at this time in history. As fallen beings, each and every one of us, without exception, must be engrafted into the lineage of God and True Parents in order to be reborn.

Father Moon, in the position of the True Father, is the manifestation of God’s original ideal of the true parent, true teacher, true owner and true king. As True Father, he manifests God’s true love, true life and true lineage and passes it on to humankind. As such, he is the key to the process of restoring all that was lost.

To live in a peaceful, ideal world is the hope of all people and the ideal God envisaged at the time of the Creation. Such a world begins from a true family that manifests God’s true love. Father Moon’s life of sacrifice and all his remarkable and miraculous achievements have been for the purpose of laying a foundation, substantially, for the realization of this ideal.

Father Moon led the way to bringing the cold war era to a close, providing the essential counterproposal to materialistic communist theory. In addition, he has tirelessly invested and committed himself throughout his life to the promotion of interreligious dialogue, reconciliation and cooperation for the sake of world peace. To that end, he has also established and maintained numerous humanitarian relief and service organizations.

Father Moon is the central figure for a global movement promoting the establishment of exemplary families based on absolute values and true love. In advancing this ideal, he has officiated over intercultural marriage blessing ceremonies for millions of couples, fostering harmony among all the races of humankind.

He stands at the forefront of a global peace movement that includes federations that bind together the peoples of island nations, peninsular nations, and continental nations, as well as a federation bringing together all people of Mongolian descent. Furthermore, with the inauguration of the Universal Peace Federation—which has its roots in the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace—he launched a movement to establish an “Abel-type UN” as the centerpiece of his effort to build a world of everlasting peace. In support of this endeavor, he initiated the Peace Kingdom Police Force and Peace Kingdom Corps to carry out peace-building activities worldwide.

Father Moon has also created a diverse international foundation in the fields of education, culture, the arts, sports and industry. These remarkable accomplishments have all been carried out for the fulfillment of God’s will and the realization of an ideal world characterized by freedom, peace, unity and happiness. Such an ideal world is the ultimate hope of humankind.

The internal and fundamental prerequisite for the realization of a peaceful, ideal world is the emergence of a family that is centered on God’s original ideal of true love. Originally, God intended His love to bear substantial fruit over the course of three generations in the family of Adam, our first ancestor. This was to be fulfilled through the completion of the family four-position foundation, that is, a foundation that has God, husband and wife, and children living in harmony. In other words, God’s true love, true life and true lineage were to be firmly established and horizontally expanded on earth with the perfection of three generations, beginning with Adam and Eve, their children and grandchildren. However, with the Fall of the first human ancestors, God suffered tremendous sorrow in never being able to embrace His grandsons and granddaughters.

On September 12, 2005, Father Moon inaugurated the Universal Peace Federation and embarked on an inaugural global tour that took him to 120 nations, where he launched national chapters of UPF. Following that initial tour, Mother Moon, traveling together with the Abel-type and Cain-type children, carried out a second world tour that covered 180 nations, in order to proclaim the heavenly way and officiate national-level marriage blessings.

On this foundation, Father and Mother Moon blessed four of their grandchildren in marriage on August 28, 2006, fully establishing the foundation of victory for the realm of the blessing of the ideal family of three generations, based on the completed four-position foundation.

After the blessing of their four grandchildren, the three generations of the True Family joined forces to embark on a third world tour. This tour was a historic undertaking for the purpose of expanding the foundation of universal victory upon which God’s vertical true love ideal was fully established on earth with the perfection of the four-position foundation over three generations.

Moreover, Father and Mother Moon gave instructions that these messages of peace be published in forty languages for the occasion of Father and Mother Moon’s joint birthday celebration in 2007 (which was Father Moon’s eightyeighth birthday, or Misoo). They also asked that twelve thousand Ambassadors For Peace declare these messages throughout the world.

Fortunately for us, we have come to enjoy the benefits of this providential heavenly fortune simply by the fact that we are alive at the same time as the True Parents. This is a time of great hope, when the ideals that all people in history have longed for can be fulfilled.

Let us become the leading force in actualizing the peaceful, ideal world by making these words from the fifteen messages of peace in this volume a guidebook for our lives, and by following the path of true love that the True Parents have opened.
